For the first time in New York!
October 27th – November 2nd


We are happy to announce that Oscar and Ana will be in New York for a very short visit during their Fall US tour. They will teach a series of interesting workshops and some pre-milonga classes as well as perform at some popular venues around town and in Long Island.

Here is the preliminary program:

Workshops at Ripley Grier Studios

Saturday October 29th

3PM- 4:15PM (Intermediate level)
Unorthodox crosses: discover how the crosses work and use them as elements of decoration. Transform the cross into a magnificent figure.
4:30PM - 5:45PM (Intermediate level)
Step into giros- Mastering the turns: We will study one-axis and two-axis giros, their construction and deconstruction. We will learn how to use giros for navigation and musical effects.

Sunday October 30th

3PM- 4:15PM (Intermediate level)
Milonga is fun, really!: ...and not all that hard. We will study the long and the short of it and add simple variations that only look complicated.
4:30PM - 5:45PM (Advanced level)
Complex figures: learn how to stretch movements into figures. Discover how to convert steps into concepts, movements into dynamics.

 A brief biography:
  
Oscar Casas grew up in Buenos Aires, breathing tango. His father was a milonguero who organized milongas in Parque Patricios, the original tango "barrio". Oscar is a well-known figure in the milongas of Buenos Aires, and his distinctive style is greatly admired by other milongueros.

Oscar has taught workshops and private classes in Buenos Aires, Toronto, and several American cities. Oscar's unique approach to teaching and his charismatic personality have impressed and delighted his students everywhere. He puts his heart and soul into his classes, and his students respond in kind.

Ana Miguel started her training in tango dance school of Moron Jose Neglia.  Her professional work began in 2004 when she started teaching with Pocho Pizarro.

From 2005 to 2008 she was part of the Spectacle Bacanazo, Empire Theatre, Teatro Roma.

At the level of the city of Buenos Aires, she was a teacher at the tango festivals.

She was also a tango teacher ACETA school of tango from 2006 until its dissolution.
